It is a Russian icon of Christ Pantocratoras (Almighty) blessing and holding the book of wishes open. Christ wears a red mantle covered by a blue tunic. The halo as depicted is covered with silver plies.
The icon being the prototype for the creation of the copy was painted on wood with egg tempera, on canvas used as the base to paint on wood.
