The colors are so beautiful and bright, even on the aged version! I love the quality the wood is solid and the Icon will not chip. I have seen others and they are more like a glued paper to a thin peice of wood. But this is just high quality.

The icon of Virgin Mary Ierosolymitissa is referred as the one that best attributes more precisely the form of the Virgin Mary compared to others. It was created miraculously, in 1870, during a dream of the nun Tatiana, in the Russian Monastery of Myrofora Saint Mary Magdalene (Jerusalem, Mount of Olives). According to Christian tradition, Tatiana dreamed of a nun who asked her to paint her portrait. When she woke up, the Nun saw in her cell the icon not made by human hand. After the first miracle, the Nun dreamed of the Virgin Mary, asking her to be transferred to her house at Gethsemane, where it remains to this day and continues to perform miracles.
