Prophet Elias

Elias the Thesvite is one of the major prophets of God. He was born and lived in the land of Gilead and acted during the reign of Ahab between the 9th and 10th century B.C. In the years of paganism Elias was grafted with zeal and faith so he killed without mercy the priests of Baal (of a pagan deity) and then fled to the desert, chased by Jezebel, the wife of Ahab. In the Metamorphosis of Christ, Elias the Prophet stood by His side along with Moses. Elisha was his disciple and successor.
